Philosophy of Care
Psychotherapy is a personal journey. If you're feeling overwhelmed, sad, anxious, or lost, I want to help you set goals to achieve the life you want and deserve.
I work with adolescents and adults. I specialize in eating disorders, developmental and cognitive disabilities, anxiety and depression, and family and couples therapy. I use Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, allowing you to utilize concrete skills, as well as a Psychodynamic approach, providing you the opportunity to process your past, present, and future self. My therapy focuses on connecting your thoughts, feelings and actions.
I use a mindfulness approach which helps you become aware of your thoughts and feelings, as well as improving emotional regulation, and greatly improving your mood, alleviating unwanted symptoms, and helping you take an active role in your life. Mindfulness allows us to be more present and more aware in our lives. My practice method allows you to continue working throughout the week, even when we are not in session, by implementing skills and setting goals.
I have an extensive history in working with individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries, as well as working with families and caregivers.
